Lighting Designer

Department: Engineering & Product Management

Reporting: Director, Engineering – New Product

Job Description:

In your role as Lighting Designer, you will work as part of the engineering department enhancing product deployment strategies by engaging with customers and providing design solutions. You will help clients visualize how MaxLite’s solutions can be applied to their spaces. This position requires a blend of technical know-how and creativity for success.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

· Develop comprehensive lighting layouts tailored to diverse environments, ensuring optimal placement and performance of MaxLite products.

· Liaise with sales, engineering, and product teams to devise best-fit lighting solutions for client needs.

· Engage directly with clients to comprehend their needs, preferences, and challenges, providing tailored recommendations and layouts.

· Offer technical expertise on MaxLite's range of products, assisting both internal teams and clients in understanding product specifications and their practical applications.

· Produce detailed reports, drawings, and presentations to demonstrate lighting designs, product placements, and anticipated performance metrics.

· Keep abreast of the latest trends in lighting design and MaxLite's evolving product line to ensure the company remains at the cutting edge of lighting solutions.

· Collect and relay feedback from clients and installations to aid in continuous product improvement.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in design, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

· 3 years of lighting design and/or application engineering experience

· Skilled in AutoCAD for precise design and drafting purposes.

· Expertise in using AGI32 for lighting simulations and calculations.

· Proficient in Bluebeam for lighting control layouts. 

· Familiarity with LED Wizard for LED sign design and layout.

· Adhere to IES best practices in lighting design and application.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

· Knowledge of LED lighting and its applications in commercial environments.

· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to communicate design concepts clearly to a varied audience.
